Who we hire

Full-Time Program Recruiting Model: Internships

The following summarizes the recruiting model used for hiring full-time MBA Commercial Development Program members:

  • Hire MBA interns via an intensive behavioral and case interview, allowing Chevron and the candidate the opportunity to get to know each other (the internship serves us as an extended interview).
  • Make full-time program offers on the basis of the performance and behaviors observed during the summer internship.
  • Recruit for full-time program members in the Fall recruiting season only if not all the available full-time program positions are filled by returning interns.

We are looking for talented M.B.A. students with the following credentials:

  • Minimum 3 years prior work experience required, preferably in a commercial role and/or in the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated exceptional performance through MBA Commercial Development Summer Internship Program.
  • Engineering or science undergraduate degree preferred, but not required.
  • Globally mobile and willing to relocate and accept assignments and rotations in domestic and international locations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, creativity, initiative, adaptability and diversity awareness.
  • Thrive in a collaborative and diverse team-based environment and have a strong desire to explore a variety of business areas.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to develop creative and innovative solutions to complex business outcomes.
  • Aspire to become senior-level managers and have strong leadership and communication skills.

What you’ll do

The program is designed to expose you to our integrated value chain across the enterprise, and further develop your skills in the commercial job families:

  • Decision analysis
  • Strategy, planning and business analysis

During the two-year program, you will rotate through three or four assignments in the business groups listed below. While there is no pre-established sequence for your rotations, the first will likely be based in the United States. The path you follow will blend your interests and strengths with Chevron's business needs.

While in the program, you will receive guidance from a program manager as well as from a senior leader who will serve as your mentor. You will also receive regular performance feedback during each rotational assignment.
