As a fairly new organization within Chevron (Global Gas formed in 2003), there are many exciting and challenging growth opportunities, both short-term and long-term.
As a member of the Global Gas Commercial Skills Development Program, you’ll:
- rotate through four assignments, each six months long, during a two year period
- further develop your commercial and leadership skills
- gain exposure to various parts of the Global Gas organization

Who we hire
Critical to our success is the ability to identify talented professionals to join our Global Gas Commercial Skills Development Program. We’re looking for candidates with the following attributes:
- Passion for our business and the ability to thrive in a high performance culture
- Aspirations to become senior-level managers who can think through complex business problems and reach creative yet practical solutions
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Expectations to build a long-term career with us
- Flexibility to move among different assignments and work locations (U.S. and international)
- Three to six years pre-M.B.A. work experience
International Students
We’ll consider hiring international students interested in pursuing a global career path with us.
What you’ll do
Rotations aren’t pre-determined, but instead will grow out of your interests and development needs, as well as Chevron’s business needs. Rotational assignments are designed to further develop the following commercial skills sets:
- Strategy Development and Planning
- Economic Modeling and Evaluation
- Decision and Risk Analysis
- Political/Competitor/Industry/Market Assessment
- Negotiations/Marketing/Business Development
Rotational assignments may be in one of the following Global Gas business units:
- Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Marketing and Trading
- Business Development and Commercial
- LNG Regasification Ventures
- Natural Gas
- Pipe Line
- Global Power Generation
- Shipping
- Headquarters Office
- Gas-To-Liquids
Rotations outside Global Gas may also include Chevron International Exploration & Production and Downstream.
Beyond the rotations, your development assignments will be complemented by continual workshops and training courses. You’ll also receive guidance from the Program Manager as well as a mentor during your rotations.
Where you’ll work
Full-Time Program
Most assignments in the Global Gas Commercial Skills Development Program will be in the U.S. in San Ramon, California and Houston, Texas. Additionally, assignments may include the following international locations:
- Doha, Qatar
- Manama, Bahrain
- Tokyo, Japan
- Seoul, South Korea
- Singapore
- Lagos, Nigeria
- Luanda, Angola
- London, United Kingdom
- Moscow, Russia

Summer Internship Program
For first-year M.B.A. students who would like to take a closer look at Chevron, we also sponsor a summer internship program. As an intern, you’ll:
- gain a better understanding of our business
- learn more about our people and culture
- be placed within project teams
- have opportunities to interact with senior management and current program members
We look for individuals who seek a global perspective for their careers and are willing to move among different assignments as well as geographic locations, during and after the program.
Internships will only be in U.S. in Houston, Texas, and San Ramon, California.
