Chevron is one of the world's leading integrated energy companies. Through its subsidiaries that conduct business worldwide, the company is involved in virtually every facet of the energy industry.

Chevron's Policy, Government and Public Affairs (PGPA) organization supports the company's business objectives by communicating with, engaging, educating and influencing key stakeholders — including government officials, business and social investment partners, the media, employees, and members of the communities where we operate.

We invite undergraduates and graduates to come and learn about the energy industry while also helping to enhance Chevron's global image and reputation. You'll learn how we cultivate awareness of the important role we play, as well as an opportunity to learn more about us as an employer — as we learn more about your abilities as well.

Map of the continental United States

PGPA summer internships are typically located in Houston, Texas; Washington, D.C.; Bakersfield, California; or San Ramon, California (company headquarters).

Public Affairs

The Public Affairs function within PGPA conveys the value of Chevron to key audiences and builds organizational capability to enhance our company's reputation, secure our license to operate in the locations where we do business, and advance employee effectiveness and engagement.

We are looking for individuals who can effectively create content to engage our external and internal audiences utilizing our corporate communication channels.

Government Affairs

The Government Affairs function within PGPA leads and manages policy development and advocacy on behalf of the corporation with key public stakeholders at the local, state, federal and international government levels.

Government Affairs interns with an awareness of the political structure and external environment in which the energy sector operates are encouraged to apply. Government Affairs is also seeking experience in international policy as well as an understanding of legislative and regulatory processes within the United States at the local, state and federal levels.

Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility

The Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility (PP&CR) function within PGPA advances Chevron's global business and corporate responsibility efforts by partnering with operating companies and business units to identify and manage current and emerging social and environmental policy issues, social impacts, external stakeholders, and social investment opportunities.

PP&CR is seeking interns who show a basic understanding of these areas and have strong research, analytical, and oral and written communications skills.
