Supply and Trading
As part of Global Supply and Trading (GS&T), you’ll play a critical role in Chevron’s operations. We’re responsible for enhancing supply chain results by facilitating cooperation across Chevron’s businesses. Though organized under Downstream operations, our objective is to maximize value for the entire company.
GS&T seeks to optimize the performance of Chevron’s assets. We buy and sell crude oil and refined products to meet system requirements in global markets. We manage price and other risks associated with volatile markets. GS&T also generates substantial earnings through trading activities that extend beyond the ends of the system.
Areas of focus:
Marketing and selling of marine lubricants and related products; intermediate fuel oils (bunkers), marine gas oil (MGO), marine diesel oil (MDO) and related products.
Supply
GS&T’s supply activities provide value across the entire supply chain. Optimizing this activity requires proficiency at providing the best crude, products or other raw materials to the right locations, at the right times and at the lowest possible cost. These activities are performed with the goal of safe and incident-free operations.
To succeed, we bring together the expertise and knowledge of employees in Refining, Marketing and GS&T who share information and work together to meet mutual objectives.
Trading
Our trading activities provide incremental value through system optimization and earnings generated in markets where we have core operations.
Marketing
Marketing activities are carried out in several of our customer-facing businesses. For example, Crude Supply & Trading markets equity crude to non-Chevron refiners, and Aviation markets jet fuel to airline customers worldwide. Additionally, Fuel and Marine Marketing’s primary target market is international deep-sea shippers and Asphalt targets the road paving and commercial roofing markets. Marketing uses an enterprise approach to create value for Chevron by providing products as well as services to end users of petroleum-based energy.
