Learn about our Business

In late 2001, the company and its partners opened the $2.6 billion, 1,505-kilometer (935-mile) Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) pipeline from the Tengiz Field in Western Kazakhstan to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk in Russia. Today, the CPC pipeline transports almost 40 percent of Kazakhstan's crude exported to world markets. According to industry experts, CPC's pipeline system is one of the safest and technologically advanced in the world and has resulted in outstanding health, environmental and safety performance.

In April 2003, Chevron opened a $20 million polyethylene pipe plant in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, the first plant in its kind in the country. The facility, with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, can produce 15,000 tons per year of high-density polyethylene pipe. The project represents Chevron's commitment to the Republic of Kazakhstan's local content and import substitution initiatives, as well as to the training and development of Kazakhstani people.

Chevron's approximately $9 billion investment in the country, leading edge technologies and highly experienced people, combined with Kazakhstan's stable political environment, economic reforms and educated workforce, have all paved the way to a sturdy foundation for an outstanding partnership. If you feel you too want to form a part of this partnership please make sure you learn more about Chevron in Kazakhstan.
