Chevron is accepting online applications for the Technical Assistant position through March 24, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).

Technical Assistant supporting the sub-surface activities of the Asset Development Team.  Works closely with Engineers and Geologists supporting oil and gas project development and production optimization.  Provides data gathering support for projects and routine work activities including production/injection, well history, financial and geospatial data from both internal and external systems of record.  Reviews data for quality and leads correction efforts as needed.  Serves as data SME working collaboratively with IT and business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of data.  Supports critical workflows associated with key sub-surface compliance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:  

  • Developing tools and programs for process automation that would enable efficiently executing SSD workflows.
  • Providing data analytics support across well, production and subsurface-related data. The successful candidate should have the ability to pull data and create complex graphs for technical and business analysis.
  • Creating, maintaining, and querying databases on multiple platforms for use in geologic and engineering analysis. This role will build and manage data queries, provide data quality control, oversee data interconnectivity and identify and resolve data issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, handle a diverse workload and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Fluent in data extraction and quality control utilizing multiple systems of record
  • Experience with data reporting and analysis software such as SQL, MS Access, Power BI, MS Excel
  • Familiar with database structure and concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) related field or equivalent experience with an oil & gas company or service provider
  • Previous Experience in a data focused, Technical Assistant role or equivalent
  • Experience supporting large, multi-functional teams

The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on his or her skills, experience, and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $63,100$112,100.
