The successful candidate will have proven experience in working as part of a larger agile team while managing multi-functional team activities. The candidate will bring positive personal energy, effective stakeholder management and collaborative behaviors as well as the ability to energize others to achieve the teams’ goals.
This position is directly responsible to lead in a team environment within Chevron Pipeline & Power to drive all aspects of origination, project development and business development for asset integrated renewable power projects. The primary focus of the position will be on development of small and grid-scale solar projects associated with Chevron’s current portfolio of global assets.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Lead cross-functional team and collaborate with internal organizations including legal, tax, engineering, corporate sustainability, and finance to implement renewable power solutions.
Lead the drafting and messaging of investment cases, business plans and periodic updates for internal approvals needed for the portfolio of projects under his/her guidance
Stay informed of the technical, market, and regulatory developments in geographical areas of responsibility and communicate key trends, risks and potential impacts to team members and management
Perform competitor, market and policy analysis to progress origination activities needed to quantify market potential for prospective projects
Negotiate and ensure progression of all commercial agreements necessary to move projects from origination to development to operation.
Required Qualifications:
5-10 years’ experience in origination, project development, and negotiation of definitive agreements for utility scale renewable energy solutions including wind, solar and storage projects
Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, engineering, or related fields
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in traditional fossil fuel generation, renewable energy systems integration, transmission interconnections, and related multi-jurisdictional project reviews.
Project management using the Agile methodology
