Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Chemical performance evaluation technician through 4/7/2023 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).

In Oronite’s component portfolio management process, a CCM (Component Change Management) is created when an optimization is needed for the manufacture process change, raw material change, or supplier change of a material. Part of these CCMs requires testing to maintain an unchanged performance of the commercialized product. CPE’s job is to collaborate and communicate with the product lines (internal customers) to develop a testing protocol that validates the change does not impact product performance.  The protocol could be simple and/or rushed and last as short as two weeks of testing, or could be complicated and last for years. Gathering and executing a protocol requires basic understanding of lubricant industry performance needs, corresponding tests, specifications of the product/samples being tested, and the material being changed. The work tends to be varied largely case by case, and the workflow is mostly self-driven requiring a highly motivated candidate with good organizational skills and a keen eye for details.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Communicating CCM needs to product line, gathering feedback on the performance tests, assembling the protocol, submitting tests to internal and third parties, collecting the results and reporting back.

  • Working closely with Regional Component Managers and stakeholders to progress and implement CCMs.

  • Working closely with other chemical performance evaluation technicians for the assignments and tasks.

  • Maintaining labs for Chevron OE compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Science or Engineering based bachelor’s or associate degree.

  • Good communication skills to peers and stakeholders.

  • Basic excel skills

  • Basic data analysis skills for the report and communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years related industry working experience

  • Chemistry and/or lubricant additive knowledge

  • Basic understanding the lubricant industry requirements

  • Good skill with excel and/or power pivot, power BI etc.

Relocation Options:

Relocationwill not be considered.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
