Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Environmental Air Specialist through 04/01/2023 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time ).  

The Environmental Air Specialist manages complex environmental compliance and reporting requirements and is the subject matter expert for federal refinery regulatory programs such as GHG, MACT, NSPS under the Clean Air Act.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • The position requires strong ability to read and interpret environmental regulations and convey the message in a concise way to multiple work groups.

  • May participate in industry organizations representing the refinery on local, state and federal environmental issues.

  • Support Chevron Operational Excellence objectives by participating in implementation of OE Processes.

  • The role requires effective engagement and relationships with all functions (e.g., Operations, Facility Engineers, Small-Major Capital Projects, Legal etc.). General refinery process knowledge a plus.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ of experience in air compliance (California)

  • Solid technical understanding of environmental regulations related to environmental air, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area and at the EPA level.

  • Experience in interpreting and complying with air regulations, implementing programs/procedures and submittal of regulatory reports for sustained compliance.

  • Air permitting and emissions estimations knowledge/experience for emission sources common to the refining industry.

  • Technical savvy with Microsoft Excel and otherwise desired.

  • Able to maintain all program documents including permit applications, analytical data, records, and electronic files in good order.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CARB procedures is a plus

  • Experience as an environmental air consultant

The anticipated salary range for this position is $ 97,800 – $ 192,600 . The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
