Contracts Specialist

About the position:

The role of Contracts Specialist will provide local support in India for all Source-to-Pay (Contracting, Procurement Operations, and Invoicing) activities. The specialist will work closely with the SCM Global Shared Services (GSS) team on a daily basis to ensure that all Source-to-Pay activities are handled in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in Bangalore for all Source-to-Pay (S2P) activities related to Chevron ENGINE

• Work closely with the SCM GSS teams on a daily basis for all S2P activities

• Provide expertise in all phases of pre- and post-award contracting, including: developing scope of work, identifying contracting strategies, identifying viable/suitable product/service providers, supplier due diligence, bidding, supplier management, eProcurement tools expertise, bid evaluation, contractual correspondence, contract change management, claims mitigation, collaborating with Legal and other SMEs to ensure compliance, contract execution, and contract management

• Ensure that Chevron’s Operational Excellence (OE) and Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) requirements are communicated and understood by contractors and suppliers to drive safety performance and operational excellence

• Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures using a fit-for-purpose, risk-based approach

• Assist contract owners with applying risk and decision analysis throughout the contracting process

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a contracting professional in a large company

• Bachelors’ degree in Finance from a reputed institute

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong business acumen with a data-driven decision-making approach
