Earth Science Manager (Chevron ENGINE)

About the position:

The Earth Science Manager supports projects supervising practitioners in earth modeling and reservoir characterization for a wide range of depositional environments and field production maturity. The role is responsible to provide oversight to the technical work, competency & development planning for the group members. The role will need to collaborate closely with managers in Chevron Technical Center to maintain workflow alignment. The ideal candidate has a broad skillset across geology and geophysics, but candidates with either geological modeling, geomechanics or seismic interpretation skills will be considered.

Key responsibilities:

• The position oversees and provides project and resource management for a wide variety of earth science tasks including geologic reservoir modeling and reservoir characterization services to Business Units and projects, and is responsible for the development and/or deployment of existing and new technology and workflows to solve key business challenges across Chevron

• The job involves integration of geological, petrophysical, geophysical and engineering data to create reservoir models used for resource evaluation, development planning and production forecasting

• The successful applicant will have experience in: Geostatistical modeling skills and designing complex modeling workflows; reservoir characterization techniques and modeling reservoir uncertainty; project management, scoping and framing; advanced expertise in Petrel reservoir modeling skills or similar; integrating engineering data (production) into reservoir models; working across multi-disciplinary teams with demonstrated collaborative and teaming behaviors

Required qualifications:

• BS and MS in Earth science Disciplines (Geology, Geophysics, Geomechanics) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university

• Experience in hands-on geologic reservoir modeling

• Experience with Petrel required 

• Prior supervision and leadership of complex technical work preferred
