About the position:
The ENGINE Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting Analyst provides technical support for greenhouse gas emissions accounting, reporting, and verification, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role involves collaborating with various internal stakeholders to maintain accurate emissions data, conducting quality reviews, and supporting the development and implementation of greenhouse gas reduction strategies.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical support for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting, reporting, and verification
Track air and GHG-related data requirements and regulatory developments. Assess proposed regulations for business impact, determine the applicability of regulatory requirements, develop and execute implementation plans for new or modified requirements, and communicate these requirements to key stakeholders
Provide GHG emissions calculations to support emissions inventory and permitting efforts for new projects and modifications
Collaborate with health, environment, and safety specialists, operations and maintenance personnel, engineering teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and verification of GHG emissions
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
Support OPG HSE annual third-party assurance of Chevron’s corporate GHG and carbon intensity data
Stay informed about emerging industry best practices and potential new global reporting standards and rules
Deliver training on Chevron’s GHG Accounting Protocol (including quarterly reporting requirements) and digital tools used for GHG/air reporting to business units
Lead quality reviews of business unit-level quarterly GHG data submissions and standard operating procedures. Support the development of BU-level GHG forecasts
Support improvements in enterprise GHG emissions data integrity, timely reporting, and data transparency
Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of digital tools required for GHG accounting and reporting
Support marginal abatement cost (MAC) analyses covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for Chevron’s operations
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in environmental science/engineering, or related field from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, or auditing in the oil and gas industry, including upstream or downstream facilities
Expertise in GHG accounting, reporting or assurance
Knowledge of industry best practices, global standards, and emerging regulations
Experience in identification and execution of GHG reduction opportunities
Experience in compliance, and stakeholder engagement
Leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and program/project management skills
Minimal to no travel required
