Job Description Summary

Responsible for the proactive monitoring of the processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations of oil and gas facilities. This could involve production, processing, loading, storage and ballasting operations as well as continuous monitoring and addressing/responding to plant/equipment issues.

Also responsible for ensuring all subcontractors are properly permitted and monitored for adherence to safe working practices and company protocols in the assigned area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform operation of complex equipment such as the Gas Turbine Compressors, Fired Heaters, Turbo-Expanders, Pipeline pumps, etc.This includes lining up, isolating, starting-up, monitoring and shutting-down this type of equipmentconsistent with the safe working practices, procedures, company guidelines and regulatory requirements.

  • Performs critical operations such as pigging, topping of turbine oil, monitoring generators and general operations of oil and gas equipment and facilities.

  • Performs routine duties to checkisolation valves statuses, Motor Control Center (MCC) switch gear status, Fire Monitor testing, safety equipment inspection, fire & gas systems, etc.

  • Operates the Distributed Control System during routine operations under the direct supervision of an experienced Console Operator. 

  • Leverages handheld and desktop IT tools to capture daily equipment/plant monitoring statues.

  • Processes daily work permits for maintenance and other support work groups and fulfillrole of Facility Site Reps to ensure work site is safe to work. 

  • Observe HSE and OE regulations. Reports and or corrects any conditions and or practices out of compliance. 

  • Performs first line equipment lubrication and basic maintenance. 

  • Maintains housekeeping in assigned area to promote a safe working environment. 

What You Will Bring

Experience

  • 5 -15 years relevantexperience post-graduation in a process operation drivenenvironment(Oil and gas, refining, chemical plants, pulp/paper plants, etc.),performing operational tasks.Oil & gas production/processingexperience will be an added advantage

Qualification

  • BSc/ HND/ OND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering or applied sciences discipline

Expertise

  • Knowledgeable in process safety hazards, assesses process safety risks, and develops mitigation strategies.  

  • Good understanding of asset integrity, especially with flowlines, pipeline cleaning and inspection processes.
