Specialty Operations business unit is accepting online applications for the position of Biodiesel Lab Technician located in Hoquiam, WA through May 15th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
The purpose of this job is tobe responsible forandassistwithtechnical support toChevronRenewable Energy Group with an emphasis onmaintainingand improving the quality of the current productionas well asvalidatingthe quality of the incoming feedstock.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Daily Activities
Perform quality testing on incoming/refined ingredients
Perform quality testing on in-process product
Perform quality testing on finished product
Perform quality testing on co-products
Reportqualityresults
Data Analysis
Performanalyticaltestingutilizingvarious laboratory instrumentation including (but not limited to): GC-FID, Karl Fisher titrator, densitometer, ICP, sulfur analyzer.
Evaluateanalytical information and communicate the resultsefficiently and accuratelyto management.
Perform instrument calibration and verification per manufacturing recommendations,ASTM D6751and/orEN 14124test methods, and internal work instructions.
Participate in the SQC program,BQ-9000®and/orAGQMprogram,CREG’s QualityProgramand FSMA program.
Instrument Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Perform Laboratorystandardand reagentpreparation.
Perform activities related to the continuous improvement of laboratory operations, includingaccuracy and precision in compliance with statistical quality assurance.
Troubleshoot instrumentation problems if/when they arise and offer solutions/recommendations forremediation.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
Be available for rotating12-hour shift work and overtime.Communicate effectively withmanagementand co-workers (oral and written).
Must be able to obtain a TWIC card after employment.
The position requires the following: working at heights, being around moving machinery and vehicles, wearing personal protective equipment, climbing, standing forlong periodsof time, and ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Analytical ability toidentifythe root cause of measurement error, comprehension of instrument technical specifications and calibration procedurespreferred
Ability to read and follow instructions
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously andin a timely manner
Record data and generate reports ona timelybasis
Provide personal contact information on an as needed basis for official business purposes
Demonstrate attention to detailand documentation
Associates degree in a science-related fieldpreferred
Communicate effectively withmanagementand co-workers (oral and written).
Maintain a clean and orderly working environment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires some flexibility in working hours toassureeffective product shipments, which may include working weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts.
This position requires frequent exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials.
Exposures mayincludemethanol,potassiummethylate, vegetable oil and animal fats, causticcatalyst, acids, scents, temperature extremes, and medium to high noise levels.

Relocation will not be considered.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $28.07. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
