Team Overview:The Trading Insights team delivers measurable value to Supply & Trading by applying advanced analytics, AI, and data science to optimize trading decisions, margin performance, and risk management. By delivering predictive and machine‑learning–driven insights, the team enables faster, more informed, and more profitable decisions across the global trading organization—creating sustained competitive advantage through analytics‑led decision making.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Overview of Work:
A solid understanding of commodity markets, including supply–demand balances, trade flows, market arbitrage, and related dynamics, is essential.
The role spans Data Science, business engagement and consulting, problem framing, and end‑to‑end delivery, including ownership of select non–data science components of the overall solution.
The position requires strong partnerships with business stakeholders and a demonstrated desire to build deep business domain knowledge to design and implement complex trading‑focused analytical models.
The role operates in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, delivering prototypes, proofs of concept (POCs), minimum viable products (MVPs), and subsequent functional enhancements.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively across business and IT audiences, translating analytical concepts into actionable outcomes.
In some cases, the role will lead the full solution delivery team, coordinating across disciplines to ensure successful execution.
Proven track record in delivering solutions such as Price and Fundamentals Forecasting.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Master’s degree in quantitative discipline (Optimization, Statistics, Math, Engineering)
Preferred PHD degree or higher in the above disciplines
Minimum of 5 years Data Science modeling in Trading domain Predictive modeling and machine learning (forecasting and time series analysis)
Feature engineering, data cleaning, and data quality management
Statistical and quantitative modeling foundations
Python & SQL coding and other languages (optional)
Preferred knowledge in Generative AI/Agentic AI
Preferred experience working with Data Robot, Databricks, PowerBI, Azure Machine Learning, and other Azure Cloud tools and technologies
Professional Skills:
Delivery driven and able to work independently (self-starter)
Ability to discuss and gather requirements for a Data Science solution with non-technical personnel
Ability to package requirements for technical resources and communicate with them
Ability to mentor junior data scientists and commercial analysts
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Preferred experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) tool for work management
Preferred experience in Agile/SAFe practices
Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

Selected candidate will work in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
