Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Process Design Engineer through February 18, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).  

Performs design activities to deliver projects, ensuring the technical integrity of the project design. Leads cross-disciplinary design activities; works closely with other functions to ensure projects are completed safely, timely, cost effectively, and are of desired quality.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • The Process Design Engineer is responsible for supporting one or more projects with total installed costs ranging from $50k to $2.5MM by providing engineering expertise in development and evaluation of projects from early phase to detailed engineering. 
  • This role will require being able to lead development of Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, General Arrangement Drawings, equipment specifications and other design related documents. 
  • The position will be responsible at times to complete design calculations for equipment, piping, relief devices and other engineering calculations. 
  • Will be required to participate in Process Hazard Analysis and various model reviews as required by the project stage and complexity. 
  • Candidate must be able to identify relevant Engineering Standards and internal/external resources applicable to the project.
  • This role will require oversight of 3rd party engineering business partners when necessary and will partner with project managers to lead effective engagements with stakeholders and internal teams (e.g. process engineering, HSE, operations, maintenance and reliability, etc)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • This role supports projects at Chevron biodiesel manufacturing facilities located in the Midwest, west coast and in Germany. 25%-50% travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding chemical processes and equipment and the interaction between units is preferred.
  • Biodiesel/Renewable Diesel Production experience.
  • Greater than 2 years of oil & gas complex process facilities experience (refining, chemical plant, LNG, etc).

Relocation may be considered.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
