Chevron is accepting online applications for the Infrastructure Systems Analyst through April 20th at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).

Overview:

Chevron is seeking an Infrastructure Systems Analyst to manage and support technology-related assets—spanning hardware, software, application systems, databases, licenses, and products—across operational technology environments. This role sits at the intersection of OT infrastructure support, IT/OT convergence, and laboratory instrument integration, ensuring systems meet enterprise technology standards and remain reliable, secure, and compliant.

The primary focus is supporting the Oak Point Quality Lab environment located in the Laboratory Security Zone (LSZ), with additional responsibilities across the Process Control Network (PCN) and Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). You will monitor asset lifecycles, troubleshoot infrastructure incidents, coordinate maintenance activities, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure instrument outputs continuously and seamlessly flow to central repositories.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, and support OT infrastructure in the Oak Point LSZ, including servers, network components, virtualized environments, and laboratory instrument interfaces.

  • Provide technical support and incident resolution by troubleshooting infrastructure and laboratory instrument performance issues, performing root-cause analysis, and driving problems to closure in coordination with platform operations and vendor support.

  • Analyze current infrastructure environments to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities; recommend upgrades, modernization efforts, and architectural improvements aligned with enterprise standards.

  • Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities including hardware/software refresh planning, vendor supportability tracking, patch/upgrade coordination, and end-of-life transitions.

  • Coordinate maintenance windows and change management for both local and global activities; manage incident communications and ensure alignment with IT service management (ITSM) workflows and change control expectations.

  • Partner with eLIMS teams to ensure instrument outputs continuously and seamlessly are uploaded to the central repository, troubleshooting data-flow issues as they arise.

  • Support IT/OT convergence and industrial connectivity by collaborating with IT, OT platform operations, and cybersecurity on segmented networking, secure remote access, identity/access dependencies, and lifecycle management for OT systems that run on IT platforms.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation including architecture diagrams, asset inventories, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures; apply disciplined version control and ensure artifacts are easy to find and reuse across teams.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulations; support cybersecurity hardening, vulnerability/patch coordination, and audit readiness within the LSZ, PCN, and DMZ environments.

Qualifications

  • Infrastructure fundamentals:

    • Hands-on experience supporting Windows Server and/or Linux operating environments, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and enterprise networking fundamentals.

    • Familiarity with asset management tools, monitoring/alerting systems, and IT service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).

  • Laboratory and instrument integration: Practical experience supporting laboratory instruments or scientific computing environments; familiarity with data interfaces between instruments and enterprise systems (e.g., LIMS).

  • Industrial communications: Working knowledge of common industrial or laboratory network protocols and segmented network architectures (LSZ, PCN, DMZ concepts).

  • Documentation and communication: Demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation, communicate tradeoffs, and translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Delivery execution: Comfortable working with work tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps / Kanban) and collaborating across disciplines to prioritize and execute operational tasks.

  • Safety and operational rigor: Commitment to safe work practices and operational reliability; familiarity with change control expectations in industrial environments (e.g., Management of Change concepts) and partnering with IT service/change workflows as needed.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to operational excellence by supporting technology assets across Chevron Oronite’s Oak Point OT environments, delivering outstanding customer service, and strengthening collaborative efforts within a diverse, innovation-driven organization.
