Welder/Pipefitter Fabrication Mechanic

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Performing a variety of field and shop welding, pipe fitting, and boilermaker activities on petrochemical manufacturing equipment.
Operating various welding shop equipment.
Repairing vessels, columns, boilers, furnaces, tanks, and piping. Includes proper NDE testing of piping. · Disassemble and reassemble heat exchangers.
Reading and fabricating from blue print / isometric drawings.
Performing mechanical and troubleshooting activities.
Occasional shift work and overtime is required. The position can also be called out after normal work hours as needed.
Work associated with this position involves working outdoors year-round.
Working at heights with 100% tie off, in confined spaces, and working under full faced breathing air.
Ability to adjust to and implement new and changed work processes and procedures.
Performing other incidental work and assisting other crafts to complete jobs.
Organizing, planning and executing daily work assignments.
Following routine duties, safe work practices and demonstrating safe work behaviors.
Required to wear chemical suits at times, including GraLite®
Required to operate boom truck and carry deck cranes
Working with other functional departments such as Reliability, Operations and Engineering daily.
Required Qualifications:
Fabricators are required to have previous welding certifications for pipe per ASME section IX requirements for Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel (GTAW and SMAW) with filler metals ER70S-2(GTAW) / E-309-16(SMAW).
Minimum of 5 years experience in pipe welding, pipefitting and boiler making.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must possess the ability to understand isometric and structural drawings.
A valid Driver's License.
Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential TWIC or be able to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrated familiarity with Industry and corporate standards and Best-Practices
Basic computer skills
Good oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Strong personal initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Select applicants must pass pre-employment tests and participate in personal interviews.
All applicants must pass pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, background security checks and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
All jobs are safety sensitive and are subject to random drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant welding / pipefitter / boiler maker vocational or trade school, college, military or formalized training program graduate
Greater than 5 years of chemical plant refinery experience in pipe welding, pipe fitting and boiler making.
Experience and knowledge of plant operating equipment, safety devices, vent systems, utility systems and safety equipment.
Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements
Working knowledge of SAP PM or similar Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Relocation Options: Relocation is not offered for this role. Only local candidates will be considered
International Considerations: Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
IMPORTANT NOTES

Welding Test: Prior to employment, applicants chosen for hire must successfully pass welding tests on Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel (GTAW and SMAW) with filler metals ER70S-2(GTAW) / E-309-16(SMAW). Qualifications for welding shall be performed as per ASME section IX requirements on pipes of 2” diameter, schedule-160 thickness in 6G position, which shall be considered as qualified for all positions. Qualification shall be done using radiography testing of the test joints.
