About the position
The Data and Reporting Technologist – Asset Retirement is a key member of the Asset Retirement (AR) team within Chevron ENGINE, responsible for managing the flow, integrity, and visualization of site-level data for AR projects and sites. Operating from India, this role partners with Environmental Project Managers, Coordinators, and global stakeholders to ensure accurate tracking of assessment and remediation activities in addition to regulatory reporting. The technologist develops and maintains digital tools and dashboards that enable real-time insights, performance reporting, and support regulatory and compliance reporting. The technologist also develops or improves workflow delivery through use of digital and/or AI tools to deliver external reports to appropriate stakeholders including regulatory agencies.
Key responsibilities
Data Management & Integrity
oDesign, implement, and maintain structured data systems for asset retirement projects, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Partner with internal and external (contractor) partners to manage data systems - ability to work with multiple contractors and data sources and systems
oAbility to build AI into workflows for data mining, ingestion, and management to improve efficiency.
oEnforce data governance protocols and support alignment with regulatory and internal standards.
oOversee technical systems and apply organizational expertise to identify inefficiencies and provide solutions.
Reporting Automation & Visualization
oAutomate reporting workflows to streamline data collection, aggregation, and dissemination for AR activities.
oBuild and maintain interactive dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for real-time project insights and performance tracking.
oSupport cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting for AR projects.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
oWork closely with Environmental Project Managers, Coordinators, and global teams to understand data/reporting needs.
oProvide technical support and training on data tools and dashboards.
oAct as a point of contact for special projects, workflow documentation, and digital transformation initiatives.
Regulatory & Standards Alignment
oEnsure all data management and reporting activities comply with environmental regulations and Chevron policies.
oMaintain documentation and audit trails for data processes and reporting outputs.
Continuous Improvement
oMonitor and analyze data workflows to identify opportunities for process optimization and digital enablement.
oCollect feedback and lessons learned to enhance data systems and reporting tools.
oStay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and Chevron ENGINE standards.
About you
•Experience with environmental data systems, regulatory reporting, and asset retirement workflows.
•Familiarity with digital transformation, workflow documentation, and technical delivery in a global context.
•Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and integration with enterprise systems."
Required Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
•Experience: 3+ years in data management, reporting, analytics, or technical support within environmental, engineering, or asset management sectors.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in database management (SQL, Access), data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau), and automation tools (Python, R). Experience with CMMS, IDMS, or similar systems is a plus. Fluent in AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot)
•Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot data issues and optimize workflows. Ability to conceptualize and deliver solutions that enhance team performance and project outcomes.
•Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional, global, and remote teams."
