About the position:
The Drafter role is an essential partner and member of the broader ENGINE facility design engineering team. This position will support piping design and drafting projects in support of Chevron�s operational refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facilities. Drafters will work closely with operations, maintenance and engineering to support capital projects and turnaround within Chevron�s complex process facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Collects as-built information from refinery and LNG process units to support drawing updates and/or design packages
Provides quality assurance checks for all mechanical design packages. Ensures completed design packages meet piping specifications, Safety in Designs (SID) requirements, Chevron Engineering Standards, and are easily maintained and operated
Coordinates with Design Engineers to determine job scope and generate design packages
Reviews and improves piping designs for operability and ease of maintenance
Forecasts project completion dates for sharing with project team, design engineers, etc.
Provides technical inputs into design of facilities and planned changes��
Provides piping design and drafting support for shutdown/turnaround projects, routine and core maintenance, and capital installations
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of design drafting experience updating process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and Isometrics
Familiar with multiple computer aided design programs (e.g., AutoCAD and CADWorx)
Bachelor�s degree (B.E./B.TECH.) in civil design or related field from a recognized (AICTE) university
3 years relevant experience providing drafting support in a complex oil and gas operating environment is preferred
