ChevronENGINEhas an exciting opportunity foranElectrical & Automation Engineerto jointheSubsea Marine & Shipping team. Reporting to theManager, this role will be based inChevron’sofficein Bengaluru.

Chevron Shipping Chevron Shipping Company (CSC) is a business unit within Chevron Corporation. CSC provides maritimeexpertiseandis responsible forthe transportation of crude oil, refined products and liquefied natural gas (LNG) through a fleet of owned,operatedand leased vessels. CSCoperatesglobally with a regional team of technical operations experts based in San Ramon, CA, Houston, TX, and Singapore.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements. 

Key responsibilities

Technical Expertise 

Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for marine Electrical, Automation and Navigation systems.

Electrical systems including but not limited to:Power generation and distribution of High Voltage and Low Voltage, consumer (Variable Frequence Drive (VFD), pumps, motors, HVAC, Auxiliary etc..) and Propulsion system (Shaft generators, hybrid system, etc) 

Automation system including but not limited to:Integrated Automation System (Kongsberg K-Chief), Control & Monitoring System (Hyundai ACONIS) 

Bridge equipment including but not limited to:Sat-C, VSAT/FB, Radar, ECDIS, Gyroscopes, AIS, Autopilots, Echo Sounder, BNWAS, Steering Gear, GPS, Anemometer (JRC, Sperry or Furuno) 

Be able toutilizecomputerized maintenance management systems and contribute to evolving planned maintenance system philosophy and practice. 

Support Digitization Technology Evolution Efforts by having knowledge and experience with advanced Industrial Automation & Control system (KongsbergKchief), Networking & Cybersecurity with maritime domainexpertise

Lead design reviews, system upgrades, and alteration projects for E&A systems. 

Operational Support 

Provide day-to-day troubleshooting, alteration input, and technical support to vessel staff and engineering superintendents, directly supporting daily technical operations for LNG, LPG, and oil vessel 

Attend vessel new construction facilities, shipyard drydocking, out-of-service periods, and other overhauls; perform voyage repairs and advisement onboard. 

Ensure vessel operational readiness, system integrity, and lifecycle management for E&A equipment. o Work flexible schedules, across different time zones and able travel domestic or international at least 30% of job scope 

Project Leadership 

Lead contractors,OEMor technical teams to execute onsite repairs or alteration to vessels. 

Take initiative toidentifyopportunities for improvement and drive continuous improvement E&A projects. 

Collaboration & Mentoring 

Collaborate with internal teams (Fleet Technical, Reliability, Asset Management, Shipyard/Overhaul, OE/HES) and external maritime partners. 

Mentor vessel staff and engineering teams, sharingknowledgeand supporting training and development opportunities. 

Continuous Improvement 

Support, develop, and implement lifecycle asset management programs for marine electrical equipment. 

Identifyand propose solutions for training needs and process improvements. 

Communication & Cooperation 

Build collaborative relationships internally and externally to improve team effectiveness. 

Communicate effectively with vessel onboard teams, contractors, and stakeholders.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

Required Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree or Equivalent Trade Training & Experience 

• Experience in LNG and LPG 

• Familiar with Electrical & Maritime Standards and Regulation 

Candidatescomplete and pass the required maritime Functional Capability Assessment (FCE). This isrequiredto ensure the candidates’ capabilities and physical abilities to work on ships. 

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Technical Electrical Field - Marine Industry andSailingexperience

Preferred Qualifications 

Previousexperience workingasa field project team leader. 

• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. 

• Exceptional teamwork and customer focus. 

• Ability to work independently or with diverse teams. 

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. 

• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
