About the position:
Leads a Team of Condition Monitoring and RE Eng's with the GCC Supporting 5x Refineries and 2x LNG plants. This role forms part of a larger Reliability and Integrity function Activities are in support of our operating asset following the priorities of those assets This role leads a team and technically contributes. Primary purpose is to monitor, and maintain rotating equipment such as pumps, compressor, drivers and associated systems. Optimizes equipment integrity and reliability, safety, and efficiency. Leads projects of large scope and complexity under minimal supervision. Support Troubleshooting of the equipment to improve reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the team works safely through active engagement and reinforcement of the assets practices, policies, and Human Operational Performance principles and tools
Ensure the base business work practices, applications, data, and tools are effective and efficient to meet Chevron and industry requirements. These include machinery performance monitoring, troubleshooting, routine and Turnaround machinery work scope development, and EWO development
Monitors KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of equipment, work processes, data, and tools
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Operations, Technical, Routine Maintenance, Turnaround, Projects, CSG, etc.) to achieve the RE Team, Department, and asset goals
Ensure lessons learned are shared and incorporated into the RE Team, Department, and assets as appropriate
Foster an inclusive environment both within the team and with the other functions in the BU
Manage the performance of the team by establishing clear goals and expectations, coaching, feedback, mentoring, and regular engagements
Ensure team works within budget
As a member of the leadership team, may occasionally fill the role of the Team Lead
The individual will be required to support other areas in the organization for vacation/relief coverage and/or support in additional work during times of significant planned/unplanned activities
Will be required to provide off-hours support as necessary to address emergent plant issues
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience providing machinery engineering and condition monitoring support in a complex oil and gas operating environment
Experience in a leadership position
High School diploma or equivalent
Engineering Degree in machinery, reliability, or related field
Previous supervisor experience with a preference for Chevron employee supervision is preferred
Reliability Engineering or Asset integrity experience in a complex process facility is preferred
Knowledge of refinery and LNG process technologies will be highly regarded is preferred
