About the position:
The Technical Services Team Lead is part of the Projects and Engineering organization within the Chevron ENGINE Center and leads a multi-functional team that provides cost estimating, planning/scheduling, project controls services, document control, and information management services across engineering and operations related activities. Additionally this role oversees a team digital engineers that supports enterprise wide surface digital initiatives that improve business performance. The Technical Services Team Lead works across multiple parts of the ENGINE organization and plays a key role to help drive consistent delivery of cost engineering processes, information management, and digital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sets leadership direction regarding standards, processes, procedures, staffing and personnel development for the technical services team, which includes promoting a continual improvement mindset while removing barriers and seeking simple, fit-for-purpose solutions. Ensures lessons learned are shared and incorporated into the applicable systems for sustainability
Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop a multi-functional organization by providing leadership and guidance on standard tools and processes
Sets clear expectations and supports creation and management of individuals’ performance and development plans
Partner with customers and stakeholders to prioritize the team’s workload. Ensure the team is appropriately resourced to meet the customer's needs and business plan commitments
Provide leadership in sharing information and resources across the business units
Support department recruiting and hiring efforts
-Ensure the adoption and consistent use of standardized and scalable cost engineering processes, data digitalization, and performance measurement
- Support development and implementation of IM processes and procedures to ensure full lifecycle management of information for ENGINE and supported assets and functions
- Ensure alignment and delivery of key Digital Initiatives that are being adopted throughout Enterprise
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in an Information Science or Engineering related discipline preferred
5+ years of experience leading large multi-functional teams
Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions
Excellent IT, communications and negotiation skills
Strong customer focus
Prior experience working in oil and gas operating facilities is preferred
A proven ability to lead and manage teams, delegate tasks, make critical decisions, and ensure project success is preferred
Experience in managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying technical information to diverse stakeholders are preferred
