
About the position:
The Technical Writer is part of the Information Management team and plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between potentially complex technical information and the end users who need to understand and use it. They are responsible for creating clear and concise documentation such as production, maintenance and laboratory procedures, safety procedures, equipment manuals, and training materials. Their expertise lies in translating potentially intricate technical concepts into accessible language, ensuring that all content is accurate, up-to-date. Collaborating closely with engineers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders, Technical Writers ensure the integrity of the documentation, which is critical for the safe and efficient operation of LNG facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintenance of all facility production, maintenance and laboratory Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Process & Equipment Manuals, as well as HSE and Process Safety Manuals and Reports
Generate materials with input from SMEs and ensure that all documents are developed for their intended audience
Research engineering documentation, diagrams, corporate standards, and other regulations and standards to ensure sufficient compliance
Ensure that impact from MOCs, HAZOPs and other ABU processes are adequately captured and reflected in all affected documents
Ensure technical documents adhere to industry standards including Human and Organization Performance (HOP) principles
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B. Tech) in relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, process, etc..) from a recognized (AICTE) university or trade/craft background
High level of skill using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint, as well as Adobe Professional
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience providing technical writing support and for a Complex Processing Facility (CPF) operating environment such as a Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Facility, Refinery or Chemicals facility
Operations experience and broad knowledge of overall processes and equipment utilized. Experience as operations representative or operations support on capital projects or unit shutdowns
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
