Wells Data Engineer

About the position:

Chevron is on the lookout for a talented Data Engineer to join our team in India. This role is crucial in deploying and maintaining fully automated data transformation pipelines that combine a large variety of storage and computation technologies to handle the distribution of data types and volumes in support of our data architecture design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize software engineering principles to create and manage automated data pipelines in support of Chevron�s overall data enablement strategy

• Combine a variety of storage and computational technologies to handle diverse data types and volumes

• Support the data architecture design with efficient and scalable data solutions

• Collaborate with the digital and the agile team to align data engineering practices with the overall technical strategy

• Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of data throughout the transformation process

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years� experience in deploying and maintaining fully automated data transformation pipelines

• Strong background in software engineering with a focus on data pipeline development

• Knowledge with computer science and software engineering fundamentals, including APIs

• Experience with data transformation and orchestration tools such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, and others

• Knowledge of data product development and data modeling, big data computing, and cost optimization

• Knowledge of data classification, including legal, sensitive, or confidential information

• Experience with a wide range of data storage and computational technologies

• Team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• Ability to handle various data types and volumes in a distributed environment

• Knowledge of data architecture design principles and best practices
