The HSE General Team Lead for Argentina provides leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise across Health, Safety, Environment, and Regulatory activities. Leading a team of HSE professionals, this role partners closely with employees, leaders, project teams, regulators, and external stakeholders to drive regulatory compliance, risk management, and the effectiveness of critical safeguards. The position plays a key role in enabling the safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible execution of business objectives while supporting HSE performance throughout the lifecycle of company assets.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and develop a team of HSE professionals supporting Argentina operations.

  • Coordinate environmental, health, safety, and regulatory programs across Argentina operations.

  • Drive implementation of Chevron's HSE Management System and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Chevron Shale & Tight business requirements.

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical support to operational and business leaders on HSE risks, performance, and compliance matters.

  • Direct safety, environmental, and health activities throughout the lifecycle of operations to enable safe and reliable execution of the business plan.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Argentina and Chevron Shale & Tight assets.

  • Represent Chevron's interests by influencing the development and application of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in industry associations and joint-industry initiatives to advance HSE performance and regulatory alignment.

  • Monitor HSE performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies.

  • Advise leadership on emerging risks, regulatory developments, and opportunities to strengthen HSE performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, HSE, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including experience supporting upstream operations.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Knowledge and experience in the development, interpretation, and application of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs and influencing operational performance in a complex business environment.

  • Experience collaborating across technical functions, business leadership teams, and corporate support organizations.

  • Strong understanding of workforce safety processes, including contractor management and emergency management.

  • Experience providing HSE support across production operations, drilling, completions, construction, and production services.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor, review, and influence operational performance and risk management practices.

  • Proven ability to deliver results, prioritize effectively, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to be direct, decisive, accountable, and consistent with Chevron Way values.
