The Integration Software Engineer for OT Data is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust integration solutions that enable seamless data flow between Operational Technology (OT) systems and enterprise platforms. This role requires proven experience in OT Data infrastructure, including the components in its different layers such as Ingestion (Azure IoT Hub, Event Hub, MQTT), Storage (Azure Data Explorer - ADX, Azure Data Lake Storage - ADLS, Aveva PI System), Processing (Kusto Query Language - KQL, Seeq, Python, SQL), Visualization (Power BI, Seeq,) and Integration (APIs, Azure Functions, Ansible Pipelines - YAML, Streaming - SignalIR). The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, optimize performance, and support digital transformation initiatives in complex OT environments.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain API and integration solutions to facilitate secure and efficient data exchange between OT systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC, DCS) and enterprise platforms with a focus on technologies detailed in the job description.
  • Implement and manage data integration processes, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with OT cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaborate with OT Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to understand integration requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Optimize integration solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability in industrial environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Document integration processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure integration solutions remain cutting-edge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on integration and data management, preferably in OT or industrial environments, and hands-on experience with key OT Data stack technologies, such as the detailed in the Job Description.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., C#, PowerShell, Python, JSON).
  • Skilled with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and other web services.
  • Skilled in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of OT protocols (e.g., OPC, Modbus, MQTT) and industrial data sources.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in integration solutions, including OAuth, JWT, and other API security protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging application performance in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with cloud deployments and data lake technologies (e.g., Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) and SQL.
  • Certifications in integration, data engineering, or OT cybersecurity are a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.
