Security Operations Coordinator

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
The “Security Coordinator – Argentina” position, within Chevron to be based in Buenos Aires, will play a pivotal role to ensure all aspects of security are effectively structured and managed for all Chevron operations in Argentina.
This includes the development of strategies to support security of our personnel and physical security of our assets in Argentina, including all Chevron representatives traveling to Argentina for business, as well as the in-country expatriates & families. In addition, the Security Coordinator will also help in the review and development of capabilities in areas of travel security, crisis management and oversight of our various security providers.
This will be accomplished through effective security awareness, training programs and by providing expert advice to guide solutions for business related risks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
Respond to, and resolve, security incidents impacting Chevron operations, including thefts, vandalism, threats, trespassing, etc. Coordinate those actions with the Security Advisor for Argentina.
Assist Global Security conduct security risk assessments (SRAs) at facilities and recommend countermeasures to mitigate threats and protect personnel and assets.
Maintain, monitor, and determine placement of technical surveillance equipment at Chevron facilities and offices in-country. Conduct residential security surveys.
Review travel plans of Chevron personnel on business travel to Argentina. Provide regular security travel consultations and briefings, respond to security travel inquiries, and assist with tactical and logistical travel-related safeguards, including ground transportation.
Develop and assess threat intelligence to determine impact on Chevron staff and operations in-country.
Participate in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes, practices, and policies to reduce risks to personnel and assets
Provide security awareness and vigilance (SAV) training to Chevron employees and visitors in-country.
Assist Security Advisor and Global Security to coordinate and manage Executive Protection security operations; provide security services at Chevron sponsored events and in other situations that may raise security concerns.
Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in geo-political, national and local security environment trends, and policies, and laws.
Maintain and develop working relationships with Argentinean federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and industry peers. Engage with US Embassy and Consulates and liaison with other IOCs.
Respond effectively to any serious incidents resulting from criminal or hostile acts.
Perform other security duties as determined by Argentina Security Advisor and Global Security Advisor.
Travel by aircraft and vehicle as necessary in support of security risk assessments, field investigations, training, special events, and other security duties as determined by Security Advisor.
Supervise contract security staff in Buenos Aires and in Patagonia oil field locations.
Report directly to the Argentina Security Advisor.
Available 24/7 to respond to security incidents involving Chevron employees or assets.
Required Qualifications:
At least ten (10) years of professional experience in security: intelligence, law enforcement, corporate security, or government security.
Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
Strong working knowledge of criminal procedure and possess experience in the conduct of investigations.
Knowledge to Coordinate and manage Executive Protection security operations
Demonstrated knowledge of protective security and security risk management principles.
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing
Excellent planning and analytical skills
Ability to work within a team, as well as individually
Candidate must be self-directed, demonstrate initiative, capable of adapting to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work with minimal guidance
An understanding and appreciation of working across different cultures, or experience of working in an international environment.
Experience in the use of computer systems “office package” such as Word, Excel, MS- teams, PPT, etc.
Experience in conducting interviews of persons suspected of wrongdoing and drawing reasonable conclusions.
Able to effectively communicate and describe security issues to leadership team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
University degree in law enforcement or military studies
Able to effectively communicate and write in English.
Familiar with the corporative work environment
Prior experience as a law enforcement or military officer or Corp security
Experience in analyzing internal and external threats and the ability to effectively communicate conclusions.
Experience in supervising contract security staff
