Leads the overarching technical design for an IT technology, system, or solution.

The Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC) located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications for the position Solution Architect for our Supply Chain management digital platform. Successful candidates will join the IT Engineering function which is part of a successful multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1500 employees delivering business services and solutions across the globe.

Responsibilities:

Architectural Leadership:

  • Technical Vision: Establish and communicate the technical and architectural vision for the Product Line, ensuring it aligns with the organization's strategic goals and industry standards.
  • Azure Expertise: Serve as the Azure Solution Architect with specific knowledge in supply chain management, setting the direction for cloud architecture and ensuring alignment with the organization's technical strategy and industry standards.
  • Best Practices: Uphold industry best practices and standards specific to supply chain management and the oil and gas sector.

Technology Roadmap:

  • Azure Roadmap: Construct and continuously update an Azure-focused technology roadmap, aligning with the organization's long-term goals and supply chain management needs.
  • Innovation: Explore and identify cutting-edge Azure services and features that can propel technological advancement in supply chain management. Strategically plan and implement upgrades to bolster the organization's competitive position and enhance the scalability of Azure-based solutions.

Solution Design:

  • Complex Solutions: Lead the design and architecture of complex Azure solutions, ensuring scalability, robust security, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the nuanced demands of supply chain management and the oil and gas industry.
  • Integration: Ensure seamless integration of source to pay and procure to pay processes within the Azure architecture.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaboration: Work in tandem with various service lines, such as engineering divisions and business stakeholders, to align Azure architectural strategies with core business objectives. Ensure designs are in sync with the business's forward direction.
  • Communication: Possess the ability to effectively communicate Azure technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating their participation in informed decision-making.

Mentorship and Guidance:

  • Leadership: Offer Azure technical leadership and mentorship to solution squads, fostering an environment of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical prowess across the organization.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Regulatory Standards: Guarantee Azure solutions meet regulatory demands and industry-specific standards, including those related to safety, environment, and operations.

Risk Assessment:

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and assess technical risks linked with Azure infrastructure and applications. Collaborate with multifaceted teams to formulate and implement measures to mitigate detected risks.

Industry Expertise:

  • Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and standards in supply chain management and the oil and gas industry. Evaluate the potential impact of new technologies and provide recommendations for adoption in upcoming solution designs and enhancement of solution architectures.

Vendor Management:

  • Third-Party Solutions: Engage with external vendors and technology associates to scrutinize third-party offerings compatible with Azure. Integrate these third-party solutions seamlessly, ensuring they complement and reinforce the broader Azure architectural strategy and business objectives.

Required Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Azure Cloud Services: Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Supply Chain Management: Expertise in supply chain management systems, particularly source to pay and procure to pay processes.
  • Integration: Experience in integrating supply chain management systems with Azure architecture.
  • Security: Knowledge of robust security practices and standards in cloud architecture.
  • Cost Management: Ability to design cost-effective solutions that optimize resource usage.

Soft Skills:

  • Communication: Strong communication skills to articulate technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills to mentor and guide solution squads.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with various service lines and stakeholders.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Oil and Gas: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices specific to the oil and gas sector.
