Production Specialist, Surface

Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company is accepting online applications for the position of Production Specialist Surface located in Carlsbad, NM through September 8th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (MST).

This position is responsible for supervising and assisting installation and repair crews in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of surface production equipment; writing permits; job scoping and planning and supervising permit jobs. This is a field-based role with a 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for optimizing overall production performance by planning production facility and well work.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Planner, Scheduler, and Coordinator to help scope and plan work
  • Conducts proactive and reactive frontline maintenance and equipment reliability analysis.
  • Work closely with production teams to assist in troubleshooting problems with surface equipment.
  • Collaborates with IOC and operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in achieving production goals.
  • Ensures safety and compliance with Chevron standards. Rigorous participation in the JSA, IHE (Isolation of Hazardous Energy), PTW (Permit to Work) and SWA (Stop Work Authority). 
  • Work with a team of Production Specialists to manage the ops/maintenance coordination responsibilities.
  • Cover nights and weekend as supervisor on call when needed.
  • Reviews invoices associated with maintenance activities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least two years operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.
  • Must live within 50 miles of the work location (Carlsbad, NM) or be willing and able to relocate and possess a valid driver’s license. Company vehicle may be available for commute.
  • Valid driver's license with a history of safe driving practices.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime based on work activity. Support after hours on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates of Applied Science degree in Petroleum Technology, Process Technology or related technology.
  • Demonstrated Chevron Way Values.
  • Four plus years operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.
  • In depth understanding of upstream facilities including, but not limited to: separation, pumping, gathering, tankage, lact sales, metering, and compression.
  • Broad knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and maintain major oil and gas production facility process systems including: mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and production equipment.
    • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), CMMS and the ability to understand new software packages.
    • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision.
    • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
    • Ability to manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervision.

This will resubmit your previous results.
