Performs routine assignments under general supervision. Gaining knowledge of work procedures and practices.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the Biodiesel Operator position through March 23rd, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time).
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Loading/ Unloading Material
Perform load-out functions including:
Safely loading product for shipment into railcars and trucks
Inspecting product for quality indicators while loading
Sample loaded product as necessary for retention and quality purposes
Connecting/disconnecting hoses to trucks, tanks, and other storage units
Responsible for verifying product quality before the product leaves and reaches the customer.
Maintain shipping and receiving system complete with appropriate documentation and work instructions.
Help to verify load-out instrumentation to ensure its proper function.
Quality Control
Monitor and continually improve quality control in all aspects of biodiesel plant shipping and receiving operations.
Acquire, label and store retained product samples.
Visually inspect retained samples for product quality before releasing the shipment.
Inspect and test the quality of incoming raw material shipments prior to their release for use in the plant; follow established testing procedures and accurately report the results.
Other frequent duties:
Perform general facility maintenance and housekeeping at the load-out facilities.
Generate daily shipment reports.
Tracking shipment details and organizing receipts.
Follow all safety regulations for any work area, and encourage others to do the same.
Follow all safety guidelines regulated by REG, OSHA, or other regulatory agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High school education or equivalent.
6-12 months general work experience preferred. Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
General knowledge of computers, basic mechanical skills, and good communication skills. Ability to climb semi-truck loading ladders. Willingness to work in extreme outdoor elements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The purpose of this job is to be responsible for and assist with performing the maintenance of all equipment in the factory, identifying and ordering spare parts, working with contractors to maintain and upgrade the plant, and improving the reliability of the plant. This position is also responsible for ensuring the plant is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Maintain the Plant
Perform preventive maintenance tasks
Support predictive maintenance practices
Perform Corrective maintenance
Perform failure analysis and implement improvements
Update and maintain the CMMS information for the plant
Enter work order information into the CMMS
Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant controls, valves, and instruments
Troubleshoot and repair Motor Control Centers
Operate Utility systems
Boilers
Air compressors
Water Treatment systems
Operate equipment such as skid steers, fork truck, rail movers, lifts, etc.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma
2-year associates degree– Industrial technology, Instrumentation Technician, Industrial technician or equivalent.
2-5 years of related work experience
Be available for overtime as required
Basic computer skills including excel, word, and outlook.
Ability to use office equipment (computer, copy machine, calculator, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate attention to detail
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to provide technical expertise as required
Work independently or with others as a team to complete assigned projects
Awareness of new technical developments and ability of applying new knowledge to the processes in place at REG
Experience in a process plant or production environment experience in biofuels, petrochemical or agricultural sectors preferred
Special skills or knowledge preferred: Instrumentation and/or controls, Centrifugal pump operation and maintenance, Millwright or mechanic training, Welding skills or Certification, Cause analysis, CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional)
IMPORTANT NOTE:

Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for 180 days. Should you re-apply for another Job Requisition within this timeframe that includes the Operations Assessment, you will be required to complete the application process and then click on the assessment link. This will resubmit your previous results.
Chevron's tests are focused on industrial aptitudes. However, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test preparation guides may be helpful in preparation for these tests. Candidates should focus on mechanical aptitude, reading comprehension, understanding information in tables and graphs, and understanding industrial math.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires some flexibility in working hours to assure effective product shipment. The employee will have the ability to move freely throughout the facilities in order to direct and conduct a variety of activities. The employee will be subject to continuous exposure to marked changes in temperature, humidity, soybean meal, oil, dust, and high noise levels.
