Oversees condition and structural health monitoring (CSM), risk-based inspection (RBI), fitness for service reviews, and life extension studies. Conducts failure investigation studies.Supports medium sized clients/customers and makes significant contributions to more complex projects under periodic supervision. General knowledge of the work function and Chevron’s practices.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Fixed Equipment Inspectorthrough February 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (CDT).
The fixed equipment inspector will be responsible for completion of assigned tasks as a member of the Geismar Maintenance and Reliability team. Inspector will participate in the planning and execution of Routine Maintenance, Turnarounds, and Capital Projects. The candidate will also be required to hold/attain certifications to include API 570, API 510, API 653, NBIC, AWS CWI, etc. The position will include travel, alternate work schedules, on-call responsibilities, and additional workday time dependent on plant conditions and assignments.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Serve as a member of the Mechanical Integrity team at the Chevron REG Geismar LA facility. This team provides inspection services to all process equipment within the facility.
Ensure the safe and reliable operating condition of fixed equipment through scheduled inspections and guidance on high quality repairs that meet corporate and code requirements.
Report to the facility Mechanical Integrity Team Lead at the facility.
Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of required internal and external compliance inspections for tanks, vessels, columns, heat exchangers, piping and other plant assets at code and jurisdictional mandated intervals.
Provide guidance on required equipment repairs to meet both corporate and code requirements.
Implement and maintain equipment reliability plans and associated inspection methodology for assigned area.
Provide updates to both when process conditions dictate, or inspection related updates are needed.
Participate in design reviews for new construction and equipment to ensure it meets company and code requirements as well as Design for Reliability factors.
Participate in turnaround inspection scope planning.
During turnarounds, manage inspection requirements such as internal inspections, defining required repairs, and NDE scheduling and validation.
Intermittent travel with possible nights and weekend work hours based on facility needs.
Maintain inspection data, master equipment list, records, and recommendations in computer-based reliability data management applications (i.e. PCMS).
Required Qualifications:
High school Diploma or equivalent
10+ years of inspection related activity
Previous Experience in Inspection Database Management systems (PCMS etc)
Previous Experience in JD Edwards CMMS
3-5 years of Inspection management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection Certification
API 570 Process Piping Inspection Certification
API 653 Above Ground Atmospheric Storage Tank Inspection Certification
