Category Specialist, MRO

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Category Specialist, MRO through April 8th at 11:59 p.m.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Define, lead and execute strategies in the MRO Category for North America Downstream, Midstream and Chemicals (DM&C).

• Manage spend based on market analysis, benchmarking data and demand forecasting. Responsible for category planning, strategic sourcing/negotiations, managing supplier performance and implementation, identifying process improvements with suppliers to deliver commercial value.

• This position drives supplier rationalization, standardization efforts, and inventory levels to improve availability while reducing obsolescence and total cost of ownership.

• Demonstrated ability in developing contracting and category strategies with input from internal customers & suppliers to develop category initiatives aligned with business objectives, proven delivery of results

• Track record of managing complex PSCM initiatives that cross multiple business units and operating companies

• Track record in supplier relationship management, supplier performance management, and internal stakeholder management.

• Strategic Thinking and Ability to Work Independently: Demonstrated ability to review large amounts of information, analyze the information for meaningful information and generate appropriate conclusions and strategies from the information. 

• Proactively build and nurture positive relationships, both internally and externally.

• Leads end-to-end commercial negotiations from sourcing strategy through contract execution and implementation.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or category management, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Proficiency in procurement software GEP and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
