Join our Team

Corporate Affairs proactively manages social, political, and reputational risks for Chevron and engages the workforce to advance the business. We strengthen Chevron’s strategic advocacy, communications, and social investments to build confidence in our company and industry.

About Our Team

The AI, Data & Insights team is a newly created function within Corporate Communications responsible for driving and championing the use of data to deliver meaningful insights, consistent measurement frameworks, and the application of the right metrics, data, and tools to inform decision-making and optimization. We partner with teams across owned, earned, paid, and internal communications through all measurement stages, from using data and insights to set strategy and design campaign approaches to analyzing impact and identifying areas for improvement. Our mission is to bring clarity and rigor to how Chevron understands the impact of its communications.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a Communications Measurement & Insights Analyst to be the strategic mind behind how Chevron measures and understands the impact of its communications. Where our Communications Data Analysts focus on the integration, accuracy, and infrastructure of data, this role focuses on its meaning and application. You will partner with teams across owned, paid, earned, and internal communications and own the development of measurement design that ensures alignment between the corporate communications strategy, campaign objectives, and channel measurement. You’ll present insights to teams across communications and senior leadership that shape how strategies are crafted, where we invest next, and continuously evolve the frameworks we use to evaluate effectiveness. You’ll work closely with the Data Analysts on the AI, Data & Insights team, who build the dashboards and maintain the data you rely on. What sets this role apart is the combination of measurement design expertise, strategic thinking, and the communication skills to translate data into decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and continuously refine measurement frameworks, KPIs, and measurement plans for communications campaigns and initiatives, ensuring alignment between corporate communications strategy, campaign objectives, and channel measurement while identifying gaps in how we assess effectiveness and designing new approaches to close them.
  • Analyze campaign performance data across key metrics such as engagement, reach, sentiment, website traffic, and conversions to determine what’s working, which topics, formats, messaging, and channels resonate most with target audiences, and provide recommendations that inform where the team should invest time and resources.
  • Synthesize findings across campaigns, channels, and time to develop a holistic view of how Chevron’s communications are performing against business objectives. Identify cross-campaign patterns and trends, and connect communications measurement to broader outcomes such as stakeholder perception, reputation, and business impact.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations that help leadership understand what’s working, where to invest, and how to sharpen communications strategy over time. Connect activity to outcomes in a clear, compelling, and actionable manner.
  • Maintain and update audience profiles and segments as a secondary capability, using a mix of first- and third-party data to ensure communications strategies are grounded in a current understanding of key stakeholders.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing or communications analytics, insights, measurement design, or strategic research.
  • Deep-rooted experience working in or alongside marketing, communications, or public affairs teams within a large corporate environment, with familiarity of the channels used, levers pulled, and the typical metrics and dimensions used to measure them.
  • Proven ability to design measurement frameworks, define KPIs, and connect communications activity to business outcomes across multiple channels.
  • Experience guiding measurement design for high-profile campaigns that include activations across owned, paid, earned, and internal communications.
  • Strong data storytelling skills with experience presenting complex findings to senior and executive leadership in a way that drives strategic decisions.
  • Experience designing and executing custom research and measurement studies, including survey design, perception research, or long-horizon impact measurement.
  • A strong understanding of the metrics and best practices for communications channels from digital to traditional, including media performance metrics such as impressions, cost metrics, and channel-level effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience working across owned, earned, paid, and internal communications to evaluate performance and inform strategy.
  • Familiarity with audience segmentation and profiling using quantitative and qualitative data sources.
  • Background in brand communications measurement preferred; experience measuring long-horizon business impact a plus.
  • Experience applying measurement to creative assets used across several communications verticals is a plus.

Technical Skills (Preferred, Not Required):

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and experience building or interpreting dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data analysis.

Attributes

  • Ownership Mentality: You take initiative and drive your work forward rather than waiting to be directed. You see a gap, and you move to close it.
  • Builder’s Mindset: You’re energized by standing up something new rather than maintaining what already exists. This team and its processes are being built from the ground up.
  • Low-Oversight Autonomy: You own your domain and operate independently, keeping stakeholders informed without needing step-by-step direction.
  • Curiosity: You dig into data discrepancies because you genuinely want to understand why, not just because it’s your job. You’re always asking what’s behind the numbers.
  • Drive for Continuous Improvement: You’re always looking for ways to make processes more reliable and efficient, treating every workflow as something that can be refined.
