
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Principal Tax Planning Coordinator/Tax Counselthrough July 14th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
Responsible for developing and implementing indirect tax planning strategies for Chevron's U.S. business units.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and analyze new tax legislation and regulations and provide timely advice to Chevron Corporate Affairs and Tax Department compliance teams.
- Support internal tax accounting processes related to indirect taxes (ASC 450).
- Analyze indirect tax aspects of transactions (acquisitions/dispositions and restructurings).
- Identify and negotiate credits and incentives available to Chevron's U.S. businesses.
- Provide support and guidance to indirect tax compliance teams on projects and audits.
- Manage administrative appeals, ruling requests and other indirect tax controversy tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 12 years of indirect tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state indirect taxes.
- Excellent written and oral skills including the ability to communicate complex tax issues and options to senior executive financial and operating management allowing for effective decision making.
- Solid leadership and people skills and experience in collaborating with tax compliance teams, auditors, and business clients, irrespective of their locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor, Certified Public Accountant, Masters in Taxation or similar professional qualification.
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
