The Global Security Protective Intel Advisor position investigates threats against Chevron leadership or Chevron-related events, provides taskings to the Protection Analysts and assists Global Security advisors with investigative support. This position provides security services at Chevron events and supplies protective intelligence services to Global Security leadership. The advisor works closely with the Executive Protection team and the Event Advisors to determine the threat landscape facing Chevron and provides direction to the Protective Intel and Investigation analysts on how to best monitor for information before, during and after events.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Perform investigations involving threats made against Chevron executives, personnel and assets.
Perform post-event investigations when a disruption event has occurred to learn tactics, techniques and procedures of adversaries, incorporating learnings into Global Security planning to mitigate future risks
Develop investigation plans that include taskings to investigation support analysts and interacts with Chevron leadership, Law counterparts, and law enforcement as each investigation warrants
Liaison with various Chevron stakeholders so that Global Security is aware of all events with a Chevron nexus. Additionally, research for events with a Chevron nexus for full awareness.
Perform initial screening on all events to determine if events meet Global Security thresholds for further assessment and mitigation planning.
Develop event security assignments for review and tasking by supervisor
Develop and deliver materials and training on event security and threat investigations to both security professionals and non-security event planners
Work closely with Executive Protection or Event advisor to develop a pre-event research plan, and then work with Analysts on executing plan
Work closely with Executive Protection or Event advisor and Analysts to develop an active monitoring plan leading up to and during events
Conduct a post-Event review to determine if adjustments to intel monitoring is warranted in the future
Track activities of known anti-Chevron entities and linkages to other groups or activities
Maintain knowledge of techniques, tactics and procedures used by disruptive entities, regardless of target, and incorporate these learnings into Chevron security protocols
Maintain knowledge of security best practices used at events and for executive protection, incorporating these into Chevron security protocols
Provide security services at field events and support investigations by other Global Security staff as directed by supervisor
Liaisons with industry peers, government officials, third party subject matter experts and vendors to stay abreast of latest threats and share information
Required Qualifications:
7 years' experience providing security risk management services such as risk assessments, conducting complex threat investigations, and planning and executing security plans at special events.
Strong knowledge of interviewing, evidence collection, case documentation and investigation planning
Demonstrated experience utilizing and interpreting intelligence to investigate and mitigate threats in support of executive protection and special events
Bachelor’s degree in related subject
Demonstrated history of teamwork, ethical decision making and excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with cross functional teams, peers and management at various levels
Strong interest in current events and world affairs
Experience with diverse cultures and backgrounds, especially in support of business operations in non-US locations
Proficient in social media monitoring, OSINT research and investigation tools such as Dataminr, Flashpoint, CLEAR, i2, Factal and LifeRaft
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint
Knowledge of the intelligence cycle, including analytic methodologies and techniques
Strong oral and written communication skills, especially in preparing clear and concise summaries of critical events in a timely manner.
Demonstrated experience synthesizing large amounts of information from multiple sources into concise, analytic assessments
Project management skills; Ability to perform multiple projects and support multiple people simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a timely manner
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
Critical thinking skills and problem-solving aptitude; Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately, then assess and evaluate effectively.
Domestic and international travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in related subject
International business or government experience
Training and curriculum development in the threat management field
Certifications or advanced training in investigation field, particularly those involving threats
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered.
