Chevron is seeking a dynamic Senior Enterprise Security Leader to oversee the delivery of Global Security programs and services, critical incident response, and complex investigations across business segments (Upstream, Downstream & Chemicals, Midstream, Retail Operations) and operations in the Americas Region (including United States, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Central America, Canada, and Mexico). This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and operations in high-risk and significant locations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Leadership & Management
- Serve as the Regional Manager for the Americas Region, supervising direct reports and modeling leadership behaviors.
- Monitor performance, capability, and professional development for the entire regional workgroup and enterprise security function personnel.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior business and corporate leaders to align security strategies with business objectives.
- Participate in regional decision-making forums as a senior stakeholder and subject matter expert.
- Assist the Chief Security Officer in developing strategic vision and professional development for Global Security staff.
Enterprise Security Services & Programs
- Provide geopolitical and security risk advice to senior executives regarding major business decisions and capital projects.
- Direct and manage enterprise security programs, including Operational Excellence standards, Security Risk Assessment, and guidelines for personnel and asset protection.
- Oversee functional excellence and capability development for business unit leaders and their security teams.
- Develop high level liaison relationships with government officials, private sector peers, and subject matter experts for information sharing and analysis of geopolitical and security incidents and risks that may impact company personnel and operations within the region people and operations.
- Evaluate vulnerability assessments, management reviews, and incident response plans for company operations and facilities within assigned region. Ensures that recommended safeguards and guidance follows company Operational Excellence standards and appropriate laws and regulations.
- Provides subject matter expertise and advice to senior business leaders within the region regarding crisis and emergency management for contingencies and incident response plans for security related incidents that include terrorism, kidnap and ransom, civil unrest, militancy, conflict and evacuation.
Investigations
- Manage a complex investigations program that includes, but not limited to, workplace violence, cyber intrusions, theft, fraud, corporate espionage, and policy violations.
- Coordinate with legal counterparts to ensure significant investigations are handled per company policy.
- Review investigative reports for adequacy and compliance.
- Prepare reports and metrics for senior stakeholders.
- Represents Chevron on high level governance panels and working groups as required. Oversees advisor participation on business unit level Investigative Governance Boards within the assigned region.
- Lead efforts related to the Insider Risk program and participate in governance panels and working groups.
Administrative & Business Continuity
- Ensure proper reporting of regional performance, financial, procurement, and management data to the Chief Security Officer and designees as required.
- Lead regional business continuity efforts and ensure alignment with the Global Security plan.
- Ensure compliance with Chevron policies and relevant laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 20 years’ experience in security and/or law enforcement.
- Extensive understanding of security and geopolitical risk, with proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work across boundaries and develop organizational capability.
- Experience overseeing large security departments and programs in diverse business segments.
- Strong background in enterprise security leadership, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration.
