Chevron is accepting online applications for the West Products Optimization Lead position through January 16th, 20206.
This role leverages LP modeling and refining economics expertise to optimize product activities across the value chain. The position supports planning and optimization efforts for two refineries, with a focus on integration strategies.
The Products Optimization Lead guides a cross-functional team—including traders, schedulers, and optimization coordinators—through influence and collaboration, without direct reporting lines. This role is pivotal in driving alignment and delivering value across the organization’s refining operations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for planning and optimizing the offtake of mogas, jet and diesel from a Chevron US refinery with a focus on safety, efficiency, reliability, profitability. Utilizes Petro (Linear Program) for product valuation, ranking and selection.
- Deliver the 3-month AOP monthly
- Performs routine economic evaluations utilizing a Linear Program (Petro LP) to optimize the refinery and supply chain.
- Works with Refinery Coordinators to transition plans to execution.
- Works with other regions and business units to optimize the enterprise.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Chemical Engineering, or another related field of study experience)
- Experience in energy, manufacturing, and/or commodity value chain
- Experience with cross functional teams and delivering results
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data to draw valid conclusions, identify root causes and solve problems
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, ability to communicate at various levels within the organization
- Good working knowledge of refinery linear program application (PIMS, Petro, etc). A background in data analysis and visualization with PI Vision, Power BI, SQL, or Python would be a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to build relationships and align cross functional stakeholders
- Experience with refinery operations and optimization
- Experience with Crude-to-Customer supply chain optimization
- Experience with running Linear Programs (Petro preferred) to quantify economics
- Experience with developing data analytics and insights (PowerBI & PI Vision preferred)
