About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Finance Analyst. This role will be based in 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1.  Provides general accounting and reporting services to the Shipping organizations in Asia Pacific, London and the U.S. that may include but are not limited to:

  • Settles payables and send out invoices to 3rd party counterparties, affiliates and intercompany entities after interpreting contracts and validating important and required information against necessary documents.  

  • Works with the Charterers and/or Voyage Managers to update and correct pricing and quantities in VIP.  

  • Accounts for all associated freight and the other shipping transactions.  

  • Prepares forecast of cash payments and receipts reporting.  

  • Performs month-end reconciliations including VIP-SAP reconciliation, Spot Profitability, Completeness Check and address Interco imbalances.  

  • Supports and provide comments for the balance sheet accounts reconciliation including trace and escalation.  

  • Supports SOX controls and testing, and internal/external audit requirements.  

  • Handles all other general accounting services and ad-hoc inquiries from Charterers, Voyage Managers, and BU as well as counterparties (3rd Party, Affiliates or Intercompany).   

2. Partnering with Manila Midstream Accounting Leadership Team in delivering reliable and cost-efficient services:

  • Monitors effectiveness of applicable controls, assesses gaps, develops corrective plans, reports on progress made, and results. 

  • Establishes processes and procedures to ensure conformance and alignment with corporate requirements 

  • Supports internal and external financial audits; serves as a contact for internal and external auditors.  Provides guidance on financial internal control issues. 

  • Assists in executing the team’s work plans and support its revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting

  • Minimum of (10) years overall work experience.

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical, teamwork and customer engagement skills

  • Must have the propensity to work in a proactive, results-oriented, and customer-focused environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SAP/JDE

  • General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process exposure preferred.
