Chevron’sShale & TightBusiness is accepting online applications for the position ofElectronic InstrumentationSpecialist(EIS)Apprenticelocatedinmultiple locations,throughAugust17th,2026 at 11:59 PM (CentralStandard Time).

The EIS Apprenticeship is designed tobuildtechnical skills in the electrical and instrumentation disciplineand gainexperience in field operations. As part of the program, apprentices will work with a range of equipment and systems such as overhead power lines, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), transmitters, and communication systems and more, providing valuable exposure to real-world applications in the industry.

Through a combination of structured training and immersive on-the-job learning, Apprentices are introduced to the complexity and criticality of work management, maintenance execution, and equipment servicing/repair.Theposition provides direct exposure to the Chevron Way Values and the strong safety culture that defines the Shale & Tight Business.

Apprenticeswillwork closely with adedicated mentor, complete two assignments across different operational areas to develop a broad understanding of how teamsand functions work together to safely deliver production and minimizedowntime andwill alsoparticipatein computer-based and classroom training

This is atemporary6monthfield-basedposition.

Required Qualifications

  • High SchoolDiplomaor equivalent

  • Must have a validDriver'sLicense

  • Ability and willingness towork dayand night shift work, weekends, and holidays based on assigned workschedule.

  • Live within 50 miles of the work location or willingness torelocatewithin 50 miles of the work location for the duration of the apprenticeship

  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates mustdemonstratepersonal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven record in Safety and Reliability


Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicants must meet at least one of the following: complete an Applied Associates of Science degree (such asInstrumentation andControl(PLC), Computer Information Systems,Automation,Electrical, Electronicsor related field)ORhave equivalent education or military trainingORfinish a certificate programdegree (such as Instrumentation and Control (PLC), Computer Information Systems, Automation, Electrical, Electronics or related field)with previous oil & gas or similar industry experience.Additionally, a minimum GPA of 2.5 in core classes isrequired, andtranscriptsmust be uploaded to the applicant’s online profile

  • Previousexperience with reliability,safetyand/or environmentalprocess related issues.

  • Previousexperiencewith pneumatic/electronic instrumentation

  • Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software applications.

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, andinternal and external customers.


IMPORTANT NOTE

You will beimmediatelydirected to the testing portal uponsubmittingyour application, at which point you will have72 hoursto complete the online assessment.  

Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for180 days.

Candidates will need tosuccessfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
