Chevron Products Company is accepting applications for the position of Operator Intern located in Salt Lake City, Utah, through March 31st, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (MST).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Operations Interns will be assigned a qualified mentor andassistin 3 main categories:

Monitoring Operations:

  • Monitoring equipment, machinery, and instruments to detect any malfunctions or potential issues.

  • Analyze samples of crude oil and finished products to ensure they meet industry standards.

  • Record operational data, including temperature, pressure, volume, and flow rates.

  • Operate and regulate various equipment such as furnaces, reactors, catalysts, distillation towers, fractionators, and hydrocrackers.

Health, Safety and EnvironmentStewardship:

  • Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) equipment for routine maintenance.

  • Respond promptly to leaks, spills, or other emergencies by taking corrective action or notifying supervisors.

  • Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the Managing Safe Work and Operational Excellence Management System, and Chevron Way Behaviors.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Act as the central field point of contact for the unit.

  • Writeaccurate turnover reports for the next shift.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Candidates must have completed or within their final semesters of completing an Associate of Science or Certificate program from a verified Process Technology or Automation and Robots Program

  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • GPA 3.0 or above

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software applications.

  • Ability and willingness to work day and night shift work, weekends, and holidays based on assigned work schedule.

  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.

  • Must pass online pre-employment testing process*

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Davis Technical College or Salt Lake Technical College.

  • Strong academic performance, communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental, and process-related issues.

  • Familiar with Inside and/or Outside Machinist & Operator competencies.

  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Should you re-apply for another Job Requisition within this timeframe that includes the Operations assessment, you will be required to complete the application process and then click on the assessment link. This will resubmit your previous results.
