about the role

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join the Finance Team and will be based in Perth. The role will support the delivery of financial analysis and reporting to enable informed decision making across operations and joint venture arrangements, with a focus on accuracy, learning, and continuous improvement.

key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Data & Accounting Support: Support the accuracy and integrity of financial data, developing an understanding of key drivers of performance. Applyappropriate accountingtreatment for operational and project activities, includingaccurateallocation of expenditure across assets.

  • Performance Analysis:Prepare and analyse financial performance metrics and trends. Support the development of financial models and analysis to inform business decisions.

  • Reporting & Commentary: Assist in the coordination and delivery oftimelyfinancial reporting. Prepare clear and concise commentary that explains movements and performance drivers.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand business drivers and assumptions, supporting effective analysis and building financial understanding.

  • Budgets & Forecasting: Support the preparation of Budgets and Business Plans andassistwith monthly forecasting activities, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  • Compliance, Audit & Improvement:Support compliance with accounting standards and internal controls,assistwith internal and external audits, and contribute to process.

  • Strong analytical and digital skills, with the ability to work confidently with financial data and modern reporting tools. 

  • A curious, adaptable mindset, with a genuine willingness to learn, develop, and embrace change. 

  • A positive and collaborative approach, building effective working relationships across finance and the wider business. 

  • The ability to turn data into meaningful insights and communicate the story clearly and concisely. 

  • A solid finance foundation, with 3–5 years’ experience in a relevant role; CA/CPA qualification (or working toward) highly regarded. 

  • An interest in connecting financial analysis to the broader energy value chain and the future of the industry.
