Chevron Gulf of America Business Unit's Aircraft Operations is accepting online applications for the position of Aircraft Mechanic located in Picayune, MS Mississippi/United States.
The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for performing all facets of maintenance and repairs to aircraft to ensure aircraft airworthiness and that technical aspects are properly documented. The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for researching, interpreting and applying technical data to the task at hand. This position is responsible for safe and efficient scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of Chevron Aircraft associated with transportation for offshore oil and gas production.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
• Actively supports Health, Environmental and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies; carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner; following safe operating practices; maintaining safe working environment; supports ongoing initiatives that include safety training, compliance reviews, near miss incidents, investigations / reporting emergency preparedness, spill reporting / response.
• Supports Operational Excellence in all aspects of the aviation operation.
• Performs aircraft structural repairs as related to sheet metal and composite structures.
• Efficient performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, troubleshooting. Performs aircraft inspections in accordance with Company and governmental approved inspection programs.
• Performs approved repairs and overhauls on aircraft and associated components.
• Maintains aircraft ground equipment, fuel handling and facility maintenance.
• Observes Company safety rules, regulations and consistently practices good housekeeping. Reports or corrects and unsafe condition and practices.
• Assists in the coordination of aircraft availability through communications with the Head Aircraft Mechanic and the dispatcher.
• Communicates effectively with pilots, supervisors, peers and others.
• Completes other duties as need by management.
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years recent experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Must hold a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification for a minimum of three years.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment to the highest Chevron Safety and FAA standards.
• General Computer skills to include Microsoft windows-based programs and experience in maintenance data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to successfully complete post-offer/preplacement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
• Ability and willingness to work in outdoor environments in different types of weather conditions.
• Ability and willingness to work rotational work schedules (7 & 7) and twelve-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two years of experience on the following aircraft.
o Bell 407
o Leonardo AB/AW139
o Sikorsky S92
Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
