The Civil/Structural Engineer will be a member of the DM&C Operations Performance, Technical – Design Engineering vertical.  Provides civil / structural engineering capability in support of both near term activities supporting safe and reliable operation and longer-term projects and initiatives led by the operations performance technical and projects team.  Involved in scoping / evaluating, design, construction, and startup of onshore facilities, structures, and infrastructural systems.  Provides engineering support for operations, projects, and integrity management.  The role will require a California Professional Engineering Civil license to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products
  • Develop construction drawings and structural calculations for permit packages and field use.
  • Coordination and communication of various issues among the company's engineering team that affect the discipline engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work
  • Evaluate / comment work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to ensure that the work is being executed in accordance with Company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of discipline design drawings and documents
  • Steward discipline engineering queries from the Contractor and sub-contractors as well as technical information requests
  • Keep Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed of discipline engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns
  • Participate in discipline engineering reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations
  • Drives and promotes capital efficiency in engineering design
  • Support internal engineering general interest as requested by Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S Civil Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 10 years Civil/Structural Experience
  • CA Professional Engineering Civil License
  • Previous experience in closely related position.
  • Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive work experience in a refinery, process plant, or similar industrial environment.
  • AutoCad/MathCad Experience
  • Structural Design Software experience such as Risa-3D, Staad-Pro, or SAP2000.

Relocation Options:

Relocation is not offered for this role. Only local candidates will be considered.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $133,600 – $230,900. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
