Manufacturing Operations is accepting online applications for the position of Product Testing Technician located in the Richmond, California through April 3rd 2026, at 11.59 pm (PT)
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Performs a wide variety of tests on refinery process samples and finished products per established procedures
Test methods vary from simple methods such as density/gravity, color, and viscosity to more complex methods such as knock (octane) testing, automatic distillation and titration, gas chromatography, etc.
Is required to learn and perform approximately 180 different tests following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that comply with ASTM, CARB, EPA, or in-house testing methods.
Utilizes standard Quality Control / Quality Assurance processes to ensure accuracy and precision of results
Validates data, performs calculations, and reports test results
Strong problem-solving skills. Identifies risks and takes action to eliminate.
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Job necessitates driving on a routine basis
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or Technology (Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing) or 3 years of full analytical laboratory testing experience
Must possess a Valid CDL Driver’s License
Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. QCD is a 24/7 operation and Lab Operators are required to work shift work, 12-hour shifts, typically working 14 out of 28 days per month.
Good computer skills and problem-solving ability.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or Technology (Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing)
10 years Laboratory testing experience
Refinery/Chemical Plant Process Operations.
Knowledge of refinery test methods (e.g. ASTM methods for: GC, AA, IC, XRF, elemental analysis, and wet chemistry)
Understands Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Demonstrated ability to consult on analytical instrumentation and test methods, including method development and equipment/instrumentation purchase and repair
Knowledge and understanding of refinery processes
Experience with chemometric modeling and analysis.

The anticipated hourly wage can make up to USD $41.65 - 54.18. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
