In Rotterdam, Chevron is operating a relatively small research centre for the development of oil additives for Chevron Oronite. It is the global technology centre for marine lubricant additives research. The laboratory is also responsible for engine oil additive development for the Europe, Africa and Middle East region. Our facility in Rotterdam includes an engine test laboratory that focuses on testing automotive and large marine diesel engine additives.

Put your expertise and passion for problem solving to work and join our team in Rotterdam as Mechanical (Project) Engineer.

As Mechanical Engineer at Chevron Oronite in Rotterdam you will provide project engineering and management for small to medium capital projects. And you will support maintenance, repair, modification, and expansion of our installations.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot on a wide range of installations to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • collaborate with the maintenance and laboratory operations teams to coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime
  • further setup and implement SAP for maintenance and repair activities including the entry of our assets (installations and their components) into SAP
  • execute FME(C)A’s and further develop PM’s
  • improve the maintenance annual plan
  • manage and update 2D/3D equipment drawings and equipment numbers
  • document and maintain accurate records of maintenance and projects
  • follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others

Who are you

To be successful in this role you have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 5-10 years of experience as a mechanical (project) engineer.

Furthermore you:

  • have hands-on project and maintenance experience
  • are experienced in FMECA and RCM methods
  • have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within the team and with external contractors
  • are fluent in Dutch and English
  • are an experienced SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook user and have solid experience with 2D and 3D modelling
  • have an open mindset and the ability to work in an international matrix organization

What we offer

This position is office based at our Rotterdam R&D Center at Vondelingenplaat. Candidates must be in the possession of transport towards our location, as it cannot be reached by public transport.

We offer you a competitive salary depending on knowledge and experience, with a 13th (holiday allowance) and a 14th month. For a good work-life balance, you will receive a minimum of 25 vacation days and 12 additional leave days (ADV) per calendar year for a full-time position.
