We are seeking a highly skilled and market-savvy analyst with deep expertise in the oil value chain and the NGL/chemicals trading space to join our analytics team. This role focuses on developing forward-looking market views, building robust supply-demand models, and delivering actionable insights to support trading and strategic decisions across global NGL/petchem markets.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Market Expertise & Analysis

  • Provide in-depth analysis of global oil and NGL/petchem markets, including regional flows, pricing hubs, and demand centers in the mid-term time frame.

  • Interpret price movements and market dynamics, incorporate macroeconomic events, geopolitical developments, policy changes, and headline risks over the mid-term horizon.

  • Monitor and assess market drivers such as cross-commodity trends, infrastructure, shipping constraints, contract structures, and their impact on mid-term price trends.

Modeling & Forecasting

  • Build and maintain supply-demand forecast models for NGLs and petchem derivatives for the mid-term horizon, integrating global production, fractionation, pipeline/shipping and consumption trends.

  • Coordinate with oil, gas and clean products teams to ensure consistency in models across commodities.

  • Run scenario analyses to evaluate market outcomes under varying conditions (e.g., policy shifts, demand shocks, infrastructure outages, weather events).

  • Lead and provide monthly market updates for the 2–5 year outlook and collaborate with short-term analysts to provide integrated market insights.

  • Lead and provide ad-hoc market analysis for headline-driven events.

Communication & Reporting

  • Write clear, concise, and insightful market reports tailored for traders and senior stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with trading and origination to align analytics with commercial strategies.

  • Present findings and recommendations in internal forums and strategy discussions.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Databricks for data analysis and visualization.

  • Experience with Python, R, SQL and data science tools.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in NGL/petchem trading, market analysis, or related roles.

  • Proven track record of building market models and delivering strategic insights.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in oil and gas markets (crude, clean, carbon or power) and proven capability to bring value chain perspective analytics is a strong plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Relocation Options:

  • Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.


International Considerations:

  • Selected candidate will work in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
