Lead the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) maintenance for facility systems. This role is responsible for driving strong safety performance, high-quality maintenance execution, team development, and continuous improvement across facility operations.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
1. Safety Leadership
Ensure all maintenance work is executed safely with strong compliance to Permit to Work, LOTO, and company safety procedures
Review and approve high-risk work activities, ensuring risks are identified, understood, and controlled
Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, interventions, and reinforcement of safe behaviors
Lead incident reviews, lessons learned sharing, and closure of corrective actions
Ensure good housekeeping, spill prevention, and proper waste management across maintenance activities
2. Maintenance & Reliability
Lead execution of planned maintenance activities with Operations, minimizing unplanned/break-in work
Ensure high-quality, right-first-time maintenance through proper job planning, procedures, and competent workforce
Monitor and drive reduction of rework, equipment failures, and recurring issues
Ensure accurate maintenance records, timely work order closure, and proper documentation for reliability analysis
Support troubleshooting and improvement of critical equipment and bad actors
3. Facilities Maintenance Management
Plan and oversee maintenance of facility systems, including:
HVAC (aircon & chiller systems)
Power and lighting systems
Fire alarm, CCTV, and access control systems
Elevators and building utilities
Solar systems
Coordinate internal teams and vendors to ensure reliable facility operations
Monitor equipment condition and drive improvements to reduce breakdowns
Support regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. NEA, energy reporting)
4. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, supervise, and develop E&I technicians to build strong technical and troubleshooting capabilities
Work with Learning & Development to deliver structured training and competency progression plans
Coach team members on safety, technical skills, and work execution discipline
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address performance gaps
5. Work Management & Continuous Improvement
Ensure effective planning, prioritization, and resource allocation for maintenance activities
Collaborate with planners and material coordinators to improve job plans, PM programs, and spare parts management
Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes, tools, and systems
Participate in cross-functional problem solving, audits, and improvement initiatives
6. Personnel & Operations Support
Manage team deployment, overtime, and contractor support to meet operational needs
Ensure adequate manpower coverage for maintenance activities
Support plant shutdowns, startups, and commissioning activities
Stand in for Maintenance Superintendent when required
Required Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a process plant, petrochemical, oil & gas, chemical, or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, industrial instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, PLCs, variable-speed drives (VSDs), and facility-related equipment.
Practical experience in planning, scheduling, and executing preventive, predictive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities.
Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent.
Proven ability to lead and develop a multi-skilled maintenance workforce while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Demonstrated experience in work prioritization, resource allocation, and managing competing operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles, equipment criticality, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Reliability, Projects, and Contractors.
Prior experience in the petrochemical, specialty chemical, refining, or related process industries is highly preferred.
Work Location
Selected candidate will be based in Chevron Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.
Relocation Options:
