We offer services such as bulk fuel supply, oils and lubricants, fuel equipment solutions, customized fleet fuel card solutions and expert advice on fuel management and health and safety.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Terminal Operator to join our Townsville Terminal. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient terminal operations, including product receipt, stock management, equipment maintenance, and customer support.

This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare the terminal for vessel discharge, determine tank ullages, reconcile stocks, and conduct product quality testing

  • Perform tank‑to‑tank transfers as required

  • Operate and maintain fire protection systems, including Fire Pump, Foam Injection System, and Emergency Activation Systems

  • Ensure all terminal activities comply with Chevron OE Management System, safety procedures, and current Occupational Health and Safety standards

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance using the FIORI tracking system

  • Manage procurement of materials and assist with basic maintenance tasks

  • Prepare Work Permits for routine maintenance and project work

  • Provide technical support for tanker drivers using gantry loading systems (Fuelfacs, SCADA) and conduct driver inductions and assessments

  • Report operational issues, raise Safety Alerts, and identify improvement opportunities

  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Terminal Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Trade qualification (highly desirable)

  • Forklift licence

  • Wharf Attendant/Shore Officer experience

  • Ability to obtain an MSIC (police check required)

  • Knowledge of industry engineering and safety standards

  • Experience working safely within hazardous facilities

  • Working at heights experience

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Initiative and drive for continuous improvement

  • Flexibility to work variable hours aligned with shipping schedules
