Vice President, International Government Affairs – Eurasia/Asia

Summary

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Vice President, International Government Affairs – Eurasia/Asia located in Washington DC through July 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsible for the strategic direction and execution of advocacy plans for the Eurasia Pacific region.  This role reaches broadly across government affairs, corporate affairs, business development, and the Eurasia Pacific business asset to gain alignment on key business objectives and priorities.  Engages with multiple levels of the enterprise and senior business leadership to provide political insight and analysis, which influences the direction of business development and the overall corporate affairs strategy. Accountable for anticipating, identifying, and mitigating above ground risks to Chevron’s Eurasia Pac assets.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead advocacy and serve as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on Asia Pacific issues in Washington DC relevant to Chevron.
  • Work with business segment, internal experts, and/or issue management team to: identify issues, frame business impacts, develop issue management plans and policy positions, develop and execute advocacy plans, and provide proactive updates.
  • Support development and implementation of executive visits related to advocacy plans.
  • Lead and participate in external events, meetings, and special projects as requested.
  • Build and maintain constructive and bipartisan relationships with Congressional members and staff, Executive branch members and staff, and other policymakers to position Chevron as a balanced and credible voice on regional issues.
  • Serve on association and other committees with policymakers, think tanks, and/or policymakers.
  • Leverage and integrate stakeholder engagement, government advocacy with commercial business development for new market entry.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10-15 years of experience
  • Proven expertise in regional government, political, socio-economic, historical, trade, sanctions, and related issues and stakeholders
  • Established, bipartisan stakeholder network in U.S. Congress, Executive branch and agencies, think tanks, regional associations in WDC, and diplomatic community
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, analytical, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex portfolio, deadlines, schedule(s), and executive visits.
  • Advanced expertise in issue management, advocacy, and association management.
  • Ability to travel domestically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly preferred Asia Pacific experience
  • Advance degree is preferred - Master or JD
  • Advanced expertise in issue management, advocacy, and association management.
  • Ability to travel internationally

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $210,900 – $316,300 The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
