About the position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Drafter to join the Facilities Design Engineering team. Reporting to the Drafting Team Lead, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
The Drafter role is an essential partner and member of the broader ENGINE Facility Design engineering team. This position will support facility drawing management activities including updates, modifications, and revisions to regulatory compliance drawings in support of Chevron’s production operations facilities within Chevron’s Gulf of America offshore region. Drafters will work closely with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to support offshore production activity and facility information management.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Ability to design cost-effective piping systems using the latest technologies and applicable international standards.
- Perform detailed design engineering of piping systems.
- Carry out pipe routing as per P&ID, PFD, and applicable piping standards using E3D.
- Prepare and check pipe support plans.
- Prepare and check nozzle orientation drawings.
- Prepare and check plant layout drawings and equipment layouts.
- Prepare and check piping specifications.
- Prepare and check piping general arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Prepare and check piping isometric drawings.
- Perform data consistency checks in E3D, resolve issues, and generate reports. Carry out clash checks and support resolution of identified clashes.
- Strong working knowledge of the latest version of AutoCAD is essential, with hands-on experience in 2D drafting.
- Work on composite system drawings, fire safety piping, pipe supports, material selection, MTO, and requisitions. Check all produced drawings against P&ID, applicable codes, and standards

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical and Process design engineering, preferably in Oil & Gas, refineries, and petrochemicals.
- Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Piping).
- Tools: Strong hands-on experience in E3D and good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Work scope: Create and check piping layouts and related drawings as per P&ID/PFD/ISOMETRICS/GAD and applicable codes and standards
- Software Awareness:
- E3D (AVEVA Everything 3D 2.1)
- AutoCAD 2D Preferred & Added Advantage of having 3D Knowledge.
- Navisworks (Freedom & Manage)
- Microsoft Office
